A little about us before we became world cycle tourists...

We are two Australians from Melbourne who enjoy the outdoors - cycling, hiking, running and challenging ourselves.
Shanna was born in Newcastle and has also spent time living in Sydney and the Central Coast of NSW; while Sam has lived in Melbourne most of his life.
Cycling has always been part of Sam's life but Shanna let a childhood fall keep her off the bike until late 2008. Since jumping back on (or being persuaded back on by Sam) she hasn't looked back.
We've both done a Bachelor of Arts - Shanna in Communication Studies - and we are avid readers of literature, history and wikipedia.
When we're not outdoors we spend most of our time playing with our beloved dog Boston and working on our house. Before our cycling trip we spent three years renovating a large house in Melbourne and since returning we're now doing up a rundown house in the Dandenongs.
EDIT in 2020
We now have a BNB in the Yarra Valley (the perfect place for cyclists). We have 10 aparttments and houses and often go riding up Mt Donna Buang, a famous and popular mountain that gets lots of snow in winter.
We also have 2 boys, a 3 year old and a 6 year old who both love cycling. actually it is their favourite thing to do! Coincidence much? Here they at some BMX jumps. Cal the 3 year old loves chasing his brother around over the jumps and through the mud.
Relaxing at the beach in Frankston Victoria. Cal is now 3 years old.
Here is an article from a bike riding magazine back home in the state of Victoria that talks about how we started riding together.
